There are two ways to imitate names. These are:
Generational suffix (Yamato: 世代間の接尾辞 sedaikan-no-setsubiji)
Description: Determines the generational position of the individual of the same name as his or her parents. For example:
Senior/I (〜1世 -Issei): The default generational suffix of the original holder of the name. For unisex names, the name can be passed down to either sex.
Junior/II (〜2世 -Nisei): Indicates a child of the name's original holder.
III (〜3世 -Sansei): Indicates a grandchild of the name's original holder.
IV (〜4世 -Yonsei): Indicates a child of III.
V (〜5世 -Gosei): Indicates a child of IV.
VI (〜6世 -Rokusei): Indicates a child of V.
VII (〜7世 -Nana/Shissei): Indicates a child of VI.
VIII (〜8世 -Hassei): Indicates a child of VII.
IX (〜9世 -Kusei): Indicates a child of VIII.
X (〜10世 -(Ichi)jūsei): Indicates a child of IX.
L (〜50世 Gojūsei): Indicates a child of XLIX.
C (〜100世 -Hyaku/Ippyakusei): Indicates a child of XCIX.
D (〜500世 -Gohyakusei): Indicates a child of CDXCIX.
M (〜1000世 -(Is)sensei): Indicates a child of CMXCIX.
V̄ (〜5000世 -Gosensei): Indicates a child of MV̄CMXCIX.
X̄ (〜10000世 -Ichimansei): Indicates a child of MX̄CMXCIX.
L̄ (〜50000世 -Gosensei): Indicates a child of X̄L̄MX̄CMXCIX.
C̄ (〜100000世 -(Ichi)jūmansei): Indicates a child of X̄C̄MX̄CMXCIX.
D̄ (〜500000世 -Gojūmansei): Indicates a child of C̄D̄X̄C̄MX̄CMXCIX.
M̄ (〜1000000世 -Hyaku/Ippyakumansei): Indicates a child of C̄M̄X̄C̄MX̄CMXCIX.
M̄̄ (〜1000000000世 -(Ichi)jūokusei): Indicates a child of C̄̄M̄̄X̄̄C̄̄M̄X̄̄C̄M̄X̄C̄MX̄CMXCIX.
M̄̄̄ (〜1000000000000世 -(It)chōsei): Indicates a child of C̄̄̄M̄̄̄X̄̄̄C̄̄̄M̄̄X̄̄̄C̄̄M̄̄X̄̄C̄̄M̄X̄̄C̄M̄X̄C̄MX̄CMXCIX.
Sibling number (同胞数 dōhōsū)
Description: This suffix is to distinguish more than one sibling of the same generational suffix. This number always succeeds the generational suffix and is based upon the individual's birth order, so #1 (〜1号 -Ichigo) is for first borns only.
